Sorry, this jug has recently been sold
A Staffordshire feldspathic porcelain commemorative jug c. 1805. Made in the manner of dry-bodied stoneware to commemorate the death of Admiral Lord Nelson. It is decorated with mouldings of Nelson riding in Britannia's chariot with Neptune, the reverse with Britannia and beneath the spout with HMS Victory at sea. The jug is hand painted with blue lines on the handle, base and rim. This is a rare example with this decoration.
14.5cm wide by 16.5cm tall
There is a hairline crack in the base and one on one side of the jug.
