A medium sized ‘Napier’ Punch Ware jug with a rope handle. The transfer shows Mr Punch offering a peep show of sorts to the public with his dog Toby at his feet. On the reverse Mr Punch is mounted in triumph on Hector, his hobby horse. The jug has pink decorative borders, a pewter rim and lid with pottery thumb rest. Date letter D for 1875.
Punch transfer wares are very rare.
