A pair of Victorian sacred heart silver handled scissors, William Comyns, London 1887. The handles in the shape of hearts that twist in one direction. Initially these were given to loved ones to protect them from evil spirits. In Georgian and Victorian times lovers gifted each other with witch’s hearts to symbolise that they had been ‘bewitched’. Steel blades, 15cm long
