This stunning design was sold by Liberty's as part of the CYMRIC silver collection and is illustrated as Model 759 in Stephen Martin's book on Archibald Knox (see last photo of an enamel version). The buttons inlaid with semi-precious stones such as this one are rarer than the plain silver or enamelled versions. According to the CYMRIC catalogue of around 1900, they could be ordered specially. Due to variations in the stones, each one is unique. The turquoise on this button is a beautiful blue. Marked on the back for Liberty & Co, Birmingham anchor, lion passant, date letter e for 1904 and CYMRIC. Measures approx. 1.8cm in diameter (although not quite a circle due to the design).
