George III silver gilt and agate vinaigrette, London 1801 by Richard Lockwood and John Douglass (reg. 12th August 1800)

Oval shape with a hinged lid set with a banded agate and a stand away hinge. The sides have an engraved striated decoration and there is a suspension loop. The interior has a hinged, unmarked, possibly gold grill. Grill pierced and engraved with acorns enclosing a shaped ellipse. Marked RLJD to the base of the interior only, stamped GAIMES LONDON for William Gaimes and Elizabeth Gaimes est.1801. Length  3 cm. Weight  6 gm

Closes well, agate in excellent condition, grill good and secure and hallmarks are clear
