An early example of a column propelling pencil case with a seal. These were made in Victorian times and have 2 purposes as well as being novelties. The sheath comes off to reveal the pencil. There is a seal with initials at the end opposite the owl. The owl is beautifully modelled. The makers number is 8936a. Marked S. Mordan & Co Sterling silver.
