This sterling silver brooch is encrusted with round diamantes. It features a star design of six points and six diamantes on stalks. It is quite striking. The brooch fastens using a round safety catch and the fastening pin is fitted to the brooch with a round hinge fitting. The brooch is signed on the reverse stamped 'SCP' and 'ENGLAND'.

This brooch can be identified as being by Ciro because of its mark 'SCP'. This was how the company signed its sterling silver pieces, with the initials standing for 'Sterling Ciro Pearls'. Although there are no pearls on this brooch, Ciro were so famed for their use of cultured pearls, that the word 'pearl' followed the company name in their maker’s mark.
