A beautiful rare 19thCentury Victorian sterling silver "novelty" table snuff box in the form of a salt/candle box . Unusual novelty design with a hinged silver lid and attractive shaped back-stand. All-over decorated with embossed figural landscape scenes and no engraved inscriptions or monograms. Marked by the silversmith David Bridge - (1885-1897), with a full set of English silver hallmarks for London 1895. Superb clear matching marks on box and lid and includes the extra letter "F" stamp denoting imported silver. There are further Dutch silver hallmarks on the base including a "930" silver stamp.Excellent condition.
