They are very soft
Sensitive to changes in the environment
Any cracks or crazes devalue them
When storing them wrap in soft tissue
Do not clean in an ultrasonic cleaner
Store well away from heat and very cold
Prevent drying by covering in cotton wool with a drop of water
Do not get perfume near to opals it can erode them
